FREEDOM

FREEDOM is a motor yacht for guests who like to move. Her pace lets a morning begin in one bay and the afternoon unfold off another island altogether, so there is more of the day left for swimming, lunch and an unhurried evening at anchor. She cruises in Greece, where that turn of speed pays off between islands. She has been refitted, and with a crew aboard to steer, cook and tend the deck, a family or a group of friends need only decide where to drop anchor and when to swim.

Once the anchor is down, the toys come out. There is a Seadoo Jet Ski and a Seabob for gliding beneath the surface, and a Hobby Mirage Eclipse sea bike for pedalling across a calm bay. A Naish Nalu paddleboard and an Arrows inflatable windsurf rig suit gentler mornings. Behind the Oceanic dinghy with its Yamaha outboard there are water skis, Hemi trainer skis for beginners, and a Jobe wakeboard and kneeboard. Snorkelling equipment and a fishing rod round things off for quieter hours.

Much of the pleasure of a day aboard happens at water level. Sea umbrellas go up on the platform, giving shade right beside the water, and portable Jobe sunbeds and an inflatable sofa float alongside for anyone content simply to drift. A deck shower rinses away the salt after a swim, and the barbecue comes into its own as the light softens, when lunch can stretch comfortably into the evening. The DJI drone is aboard to film the bay, the yacht and the swimmers from above.

Inside, the salon is set up for evenings in as well as days out. A Bose home cinema and a salon TV make a film night easy, with LG and Samsung smart TVs elsewhere aboard. Music follows guests around the yacht through a wireless Bose entertainment system that plays to separate zones, and a wireless Fusion system covers the deck. WiFi keeps everyone connected when they wish to be, and practical touches such as hairdryers mean little needs packing beyond swimwear and a good book.
