Description
Alena is a power catamaran of recent build, drawn with rounded, asymmetric lines that give her a purposeful look at anchor and real pace between islands. For a crewed charter in Greek waters that pace matters. A long passage becomes a morning's run, which leaves the afternoon for a quiet bay and a swim from the stern. Her twin hulls keep her steady and level, so lunch stays on the table and guests move about her decks with ease. She suits a family or a group of friends who want to cover ground without giving up the calm of a slow day.
Life aboard spreads across three outdoor spaces. The aft cockpit runs straight through to the saloon, so on a warm evening the doors stand open and the whole deck becomes one room. Up on the flybridge there is space to stretch out in the sun and a table for eating in the open air as the light goes. Forward, a lounge at the bow surrounds the Jacuzzi, a sheltered place to sit with a drink while the breeze comes off the water. Inside, the galley sits below, leaving the saloon uncluttered and bright, with broad windows that keep the sea in view.
The owner's suite is generously proportioned, with its own dressing room and an Italian-styled bathroom with twin basins. The remaining cabins have queen beds, and each has a private en-suite finished with the same considered eye. A small, attentive crew looks after the yacht and her guests. They handle the anchoring, the meals and the tender runs ashore, so the only decisions left to you are where to swim and when to eat. Evenings might bring the barbecue on deck, a board game in the saloon or a film on the TV, with WiFi aboard for anyone who needs to stay in touch.
The water is where Alena earns her keep. A Seabob pulls swimmers beneath the surface of a clear bay, and the Highfield tender tows water ski and wakeboard runs in the early calm. Kayak and paddleboard are there for exploring the rocky edges of an anchorage at your own pace. Snorkelling equipment opens up the life below, and floating noodles make for long, lazy hours in the shallows. This is island-hopping where each stop can be as active or as idle as the group prefers, and the crew will set things up accordingly.
